🗺️ Tour Programme: Miletos, Karina & Doğanbey Village

We begin the day by picking you up from your hotel in Didim at 08:30, with departure at 09:00. Our first visit is to the iconic Temple of Apollo in Didim – the second-largest oracle center of the ancient world, also significant in Christian history. A remarkable site you shouldn’t miss.

Next, we travel to the ancient city of Miletos, known as the first colonized Greek city, with a history dating back to the 16th or even 17th century BC. Miletos was not only a major commercial hub but also home to great minds such as Thales, Anaximander, Anaximenes, and Athemius, the architect of Hagia Sophia. The city’s intellectual legacy is undeniable.

The main highlight is the well-preserved amphitheatre. We’ll also explore the Faustina Roman Baths and the Miletos Museum, rich in archaeological treasures.

Our next stop is Karina, a serene village by the Aegean Sea where you’ll have free time to explore and enjoy lunch (optional). After this peaceful break, we head to Doğanbey Village, formerly a Greek settlement, now inhabited by Turkish locals. This charming village features narrow streets, stone houses, and a quiet atmosphere.

We’ll stroll through the village, enjoy a traditional Turkish coffee at a local café, and perhaps engage in conversation with locals. It’s a lovely, authentic end to the day before returning to Didim around 18:00.
